8th Ohio Battery Monument at Vicksburg

History

Organized at Camp Dennison, March 10th, 1862, by Captain Louis Margraff, it participated at Shiloh, seige of Corinth, Chickasaw Bayou, Arkansas Post, Grand Gulf, Black River Bridge, Raymond, Champion Hill, Vicksburg, Jackson and the Meridian Expedition. The 8th Battery mustered out at Camp Dennison on August 9th, 1865.
